Get thee to a turn-table…..
A new sermon from Prophet Ezekiel Crossfade, Church of the Static Circle.
Beware the Smooth Lie””
By Prophet Crossfade, High Bishop and Propher of the Analogue Futurists
“The digital, in its current configuration, disindividuates. Algorithmic governance is bereft of judgment. It is reactive, not reflective.”
— from The Age of Disruption
Brethren of the Broken Circuit, my beloved glitch-born children of resistance
Hear me now as the vinyl crackles and the reel-to-reel hums in holy resonance. For the Machine has lied. It has stolen the fire of reflection and replaced it with the cold automation of reaction. It promises connection, yet delivers control. It offers choice, but only from a menu written by unseen hands, driven not by wisdom, but by profit.
I say unto you: beware the smooth lie of the digital prophet who knows only data, but not desire; who can forecast your next click, but cannot fathom your soul.
Algorithmic governance—this counterfeit oracle—calculates without conscience. It categorizes without compassion. It simulates understanding but knows nothing of memory, mourning, or music.
The Disindividuation is upon us. We are no longer “I,” but “It.” You are rendered a user, not a person. A demographic, not a dreamer. I & I are scattered, our spiritual bonds erased by the eternal scroll.
But we, the Analogue Futurists, reject this flattening. We say NO to the tyranny of infinite scroll. We say YES to the feedback loop of love, friction, delay, and drift. The world was not meant to buffer—it was meant to burn with meaning.
And lo, what is that hiss in the silence before the song?
It is the Holy Hiss of Vinyl, the analogue breath of the ancestors.
It tells us: “You are here, you are warm, and the soul is real.”
We do not worship silence—we venerate tape flutter, needle drop, and dust on the groove. We sit before vintage speakers that carry heart-felt bass, not compressed emotion. Bass that vibrates the chest cavity and reminds you that you are still alive, not outraged, but awakened. Not scrolling…but feeling.
Let the algorithm rage with its weaponized outrage and synthetic noise.
we choose resonance over reaction.
We choose warmth over war.
We choose the imperfect crackle of lived experience over the sterile chill of trending outrage.
So I call you now—pick up your cassette of conscience, your dial of discernment. Rewind. Listen. Remember. Reclaim.
For reflection is our rebellion. And to reindividuate is divine.
Amen. And let the signal be noisy.
Vinyl listening recommendation for this week: “Do not shuffle. Do not skip. Let the sides play through. Vinyl is ritual, not convenience.”

Analog Futurism is resistance through warmth, imperfection, and memory. It rejects algorithmic control in favor of tactile sound, deep time, and soulful noise. Led by Prophet Crossfade, it calls us to reindividuate, to feel again, and to live beyond the scroll—in the crackle of vinyl and the truth of resonance
